Dr. Michael Sacks and graduate research assistants Salma Ayoub and Bruno Rego traveled to Banff, Canada this month to attend the 2016 ISACB Conference.
Dr. Sacks presented the talks "An in-situ approach to estimate the layer-specific biophysical state of aortic valve interstitial cells" and "Stress fiber contractile behaviors in aortic valve interstitial cell"; Rego presented the poster "Evidence for interstitial cell-driven restoration of homeostasis in heart valve remodeling"; and Ayoub presented "Linking layer-specific mitral valve interstitial cell deformation to biosynthetic response: implications for mitral valve repair."
Salma Ayoub's poster received the Young Investigators Award as an Honorable Mention.
Details of the ISACB bienniel conference are at the association's website.
